If you preparing to have a baby in the UK, you’d better start thinking about schools soon. For many families, school drives the decision about where to live and can be a significant part of the family budget. Questions like “should I look for a public or private school?” And “how close should I live from the school to get accepted?” can take many parent’s sleep at night. There are 1,099 government maintained primary schools in London, which means a very long list to choose from.
There are many types of pre-schools, primary (5-11 years old) and secondary (11-16 years old) schools: nursery, state schools, public schools, independent schools, comprehensive schools, faith schools, grammar schools and academies.
